If you were a Virtual Business Gym member, you would have received this post in your secure gym.
You would have been given a workout this week preparing you to choose a visual metaphor as the starting point in determining what you want.
I would have attempted to encourage you or not feel bad about making you feel like crap if you did not complete the workouts designed to help you monetize + time-shift + re-purpose your sustainable business idea by making statements like the one below:
Respectfully, I know many of you have not and will not complete this workout. There are a number of reasons why. I’ll focus on just one.
- You can’t see how choosing an image is relevant as a starting point to defining and confirming what you want.
Yesterday I was working with a client who is a member of our Virtual Business Gym.
He is so talented with years of marketing media production and promotion on his impressive CV credentials. Frankly, I should be paying him instead of him paying us.
To paint a visual picture of this client, this is his brain working for him:

Your Brain Showing You!
Many of you reading this post are also looking at your brain right now.
I was sharing with our client my own story of how powerful visual metaphors can be in gaining clarity.
I’m getting ready to bust-out some of my behavioral sciences background on you, so buckle-up!
We know when we ask a question, our brain fires off neuro-sensors to search for a time when we may have answered that question before. So the brain is hardwired to default towards something that is known vs. unknown.
Now imagine your brain is like an old-school rolodex. Young people reading this right now are asking everyone nearby, “What the heck is a rolodex?”
So when you ask, “What do I want?”
Your brain will continue to search the white space margin of your “noggin” until it latches onto an image. And that image provides a known reference and closure for the brain like a cool glass of sweetened tea with lemon after cutting the grass on a hot and humid summer day.
Gotcha…
Did your brain go to a visual metaphor?
Go do your workout right now and uncover the clarity and confirmation of your chosen visual metaphor.
Imagine you have just walked into a beautiful and inviting room. It is your Virtual Business Gym. Go ahead and imagine by forming a picture.
You are greeted by a healthy man in his mid-twenties dressed in a grey pinstripe suit with a really cool tie. You notice his fresh haircut and clean shaven face. This person is going to move-up in the world, you say to yourself as he hands you a digital white clipboard and a funky-looking writing pen. (Feel free to replace our guy with a girl. Ha!)
You are taken to a room with a long table and comfortable leather chairs. A voice greets you as soon as you are seated.
The female voice clearly says, “Welcome Mr. or Mrs. , we have been expecting you.”
Your are instructed to take the pen and begin drawing the WHAT of your life. You are reminded by the pleasant voice, that it is impossible to make any mistakes and that coloring inside the lines is frowned upon.
Minutes later it is finished.
Go here (available to members only) and complete your workout now.
Are you willing to devote 10,800 seconds a month to monetizing, time-shifting, and re-purposing your sustainable business idea?
