I’d like you to watch the video below first. Within the first 1m and 30 seconds or so, I’m going to ask you to pause the video. I then give you instructions to watch the second video. After you finish the second video, please return to my first video of me talking to you and pick up where we left one another.
I meant no disrespect to any heathen bastards by using “heathen bastards” in the context of this video:)
Here are my main points in what we can learn from this video and apply to our marketing messaging:
- No matter what products or services you offer, they must be made meaningful to you and those you are attempting to serve.
- Mood music. Music can help create the right tone to compliment a call to action.
- Your marketing message must relate (people must get it) to your particular cause.
- Deliver a story within your marketing message. 1st or 3rd person stories of how people have impacted by your products or services are memorable and powerful. 4 minutes and 45 seconds into the Hillsong You Tube video, you can witness a story within a story.
- Don’t feel your marketing story is not worthy enough to shout from the rooftops. How we help people with real world problems in a practical way is all the worthy you ever need in your marketing. It will never get old to those you’ve helped and those whom are considering if you are the solution to their problem.
