In this video, we share a time-tested marketing agency strategy of how we help small business owners develop a unique selling proposition in less than 15 minutes, and delivering both offline and online in such a compelling way that your ideal clients can answer for themselves why they should choose your business vs. any other competitive option available to them.
A jazz great with big cheeks and a bent trumpet had a unique selling proposition.
A Hasidic Jew Reggae singer has a unique selling proposition.
Will you or your services be remembered and shared?
A Portland small business client of ours learned this simple strategy from us last week. He very quickly said, “I know exactly what our crossroads unique selling proposition will be.” What about you? After watching this video, do you have a unique and compelling answer when people ask you, Why should I choose your business vs. any other competitive option available to me?
I’d like you to answer my next question in the comment section below.
- Share your unique selling proposition in as few of words as possible.

A wonderful video, thanks Matthew.
I settled with:-
Creating effective business strategy, wonderful ideas, having fun and making profits.

@Phil, I’m so glad you took time to watch this video and off your USP. By the way, nice “push and pull” strategy post today on your blog. You can write.
I’ve been studying, practicing, and teaching this for 25 years. What came through for me loud and clear thanks to this video is that a USP doesn’t need to be all three of these types. Duh! I see how I’ve been pulled off course by other people’s snazzy USPs when mine is just fine.
My crossroads USP continues to be: Business guidance for people who love their work but don’t love business.
Thank you.
@Molly You made my day with this comment. Having a USP is like a “talking logo” in that it links and summarizes what you do and how you can uniquely serve people- and in order for it to be successful, most people have to have that “dead trout glassy eyeball” look when you tell them because if done correctly, you’re appealing to fewer people instead of most people in order to truly be perceived as unique.
